At
Slate Canyon Design, service is everything. We're not happy
until you're ecstatic. Our desire is to exceed your expectations.
To do that we take the time up front to find out what your expectations
are. This upfront time is called "front-end loading" and
it is an investment of time early in the
process that saves time overall and improves everyone's satisfaction
with the final product.
We use a powerful
development process that includes the following five stages:
| Diagnose |
Our
belief is that we can't prescribe a solution to your web site
problem until we have properly diagnosed what your needs are.
During this stage we'll ask you questions you've never thought
of to make sure that we get our solution right the first time. |
| Design |
Before
we physically create a new site, we create a concept or map
that outlines the site's content and navigation structure. |
| Develop |
This
is where the rubber meets the road - where we create the actual
site that we've envisioned during the previous two steps in
the process. |
| Deliver |
This
is the testing phase, where we work together to fine-tune the
site's content and to make sure we work out any bugs before
taking the new site public. |
| Learn |
Once
the new site is launched we continue to support you as users
interface with it and provide feedback that may allows us to
improve things even more. This is the stage where we teach you
how to manage and update your new site so that you don't have
to rely on us in the future if you don't want to. |
PROJECT
MANAGEMENT
We use a popular and powerful four-step
project management process that helps ensure key stakeholder buy-in,
identifies and avoids potential problems, and ensures that expectations
are met. The steps are:

Aristotle
said, "The soul never thinks without a picture,"
and the first thing we do on any project is get a clear
picture of the desired result of our work. |
| Plan
It |
In
order to stay ahead of things that cause many projects to fail,
we predetermine a course of project events/tasks in writing. |
|
Implement
It
|
This
step represents the day-to-day implementation of the plan. This
is where the work gets done. |

All
successful projects finally come to an end and for us the end
comes in evaluation. We want to investigate with the client
why the project was successful and what we can do to avoid in
the future any problems we faced during this project. This is
the Learning phase of the 4 DL process. |
INSTRUCTIONAL
DESIGN
We can help
you with your training needs at every point in the 4DL process.
If you only need help diagnosing and designing a solution
and you have staff to develop and deliver, that is
fine with us. If you've developed a solution and you need help with
delivery, we can do that. We can project manage development by your
staff or you can turn the whole process over to us.
WEB
DESIGN
We specialize in inexpensive web design for small sites. However,
we can do very small projects like a banner and site copy editing
or big jobs like a complex multi-product e-commerce site.
Some of the
things we can do for you include:
| |
A
site touch up that involves improving your page layout and site
navigation using existing copy and images. |
| |
A
full site redesign, including logo identity design, image work,
and development of copy. |
| |
Editing
the copy on your site to make sure that it reads clearly and
sends the message you intend to deliver.
|
| |
Banner
ads and buttons. |
